The cave Strašna peć is located on Dugi otok near Savar.
The entrance to the cave Strašna peć is at an altitude of 70 meters. The monumentality of the entrance 10 m wide and 7 m high stands out.
The cave is formed in well-layered ore-bearing limestones. After the entrance, which was most likely formed by the collapse of part of the vault, the canal begins to descend slightly and then steeper to the bottom, which is filled with collapsing blocks.
Between the connected stalactites and stalagmites, nature has shaped the space like the vaults of Gothic basilicas.
NOTE:
the road leading to the Cave is macadam road with parking spaces at the end of the road (for ca 10 cars)
it can be cold in the Cave so bring appropriate clothing
